2024 Studio Paint N Sip Nights

What an amazing first year of hosting PAINT NIGHTS at my new downtown studio! It's been an amazing way to see my community face-to-face instead of just online and it's SO FANTASTIC to have everyone see my studio space in person.

Since July 19th, I've hosted 4 sold out paint nights, selling 20 tickets each night and we always had way too much fun. It's a private Paint N Sip event so everyone was welcome to bring their own beverage of choice, I played chill music, the studio is a comfy cozy environment, and Melissa Dinwoodie led the way in awesome creations. The events start at 6 pm and usually go until 8:30 pm and there is no experience required because each step is covered in detail and Melissa makes sure everyone stays on track.

On the first studio night it was all members of Selina's Goddesses so we painted a beautiful tree Goddess to keep to theme. This was my first time ever attending a paint night and I learnt SO MUCH about blending and the use of water on the brush.

On the second paint night, we painted sunflowers, which was a favorite for a lot of people! This is a great one that showed how much variety we can have among all the different canvases.

Melissa gives us suggestions but in the end it's our choice on what colour palette we use and what we want the final look to be. This photo taught us a really cool technique of using red as the first layer to create movement in an image.

On our third paint night, we painted bumblebee's and this painting ended up being my kids' favorite of mine. The original painting had one bumble bee but a lot of us added little bumblebee's for our kids, which I also chose to do. I just loved their little fluffy butt's and the way we learnt to make the wings.

Our final paint night of the year was in November and I requested that we do a painting with dragonflies. I have a very strong connection with dragonflies and this painting holds a special place in my heart.

I am looking forward to hosting more events in the future. If you'd like to be notified about upcoming Paint Night events, please email selina@selinaphotography.ca and I will be in touch when I announce future dates.
