A Dairy Wedding

Christina & Tyler had the perfect weather for their August wedding in Sicamous. You may not know them personally, but if you've ever been through Sicamous, you most likely know their dairy, D Dutchmen Dairy, because they have the best ice cream around, with 62 different flavours to choose from. It is an Okanagan must stop for any tourist!

Christina and Tyler got ready on different levels of their home, which was also where they were hosting the wedding, right next to the famous dairy. That meant that their famous ice cream making COWS were also a part of the wedding ceremony!

They decided to have a first look and we did it along their wall of beautiful sunflowers. The property had an amazing amount of flowers thanks to the family, and it put a little extra magic into each photo.

My favorite part of the ceremony was the dairy cows coming up to be a part of their owners' vows. They walked right up like they were formally invited guests! And the couple was so happy that they did. It was the perfect touch.

After their beautiful wedding ceremony, I snuck away with the wedding party to play a little volleyball... what?! Yupp! Both the bride and groom are sporty people so they had a volleyball court setup, among other lawn sports, so of course I took advantage of that and the wedding party had a set of boys against girls.

Then I let the rest of the party get to the party while C & T and I made the most out of the last of the sun and got some beautiful portraits of the two of them in their first moments as husband and wife!

When the three of us got back it was time for the first dances and I loved the way they used hay bails for seating to create a dancefloor in the yard. A super smart alternative for seating for backyard weddings!

Christina & Tyler were very nice to each other during the cake cutting, no cake smashing! Then everyone enjoyed a phenomenal homemade buffet that the family also helped with. Before I was done for the day, I shot possibly my favorite photo of a kid at a wedding ever. Check out that last photo in the above gallery, of the boy. You can only imagine how the moments after this went! Hilarious!
