Bloom Sunflower Photoshoots 2024
The Bloom Sunflower Festival in Armstrong, B.C. is BACK at a new location!
After such an awesome 2022 season, I was devastated when Bloom had to cancel their 2023 Sunflower Festival due to the extremely high temperatures roasting the poor sunflowers early in the season.
They just announced that this year's festival is a go, from September 20th to October 14th, and they already have tickets available for purchase on their website. Here are the details for their prices, packages and schedule:
Don't let them fool you with the Magic Hour Sunrise timeslots being $40. Those are at 5:30 am and we're not doing that, nor is that necessary for gorgeous golden photos 😆
The earlier (9:00 am start time) and later openings will be the best for lighting so please contact us asap if you want those spots because they'll be the first to go. They are a pet friendly location so feel free to bring your four legged family members, too. Just remember, if you're booked for a shorter session with me, I won't be as focused on posing them as much, and there may be other dogs there, with narrow walk ways, so I leave it to your discretion to decide if you want to bring them.
For the photoshoot options, you can book me for a 30 or 60 minute session, details for both are here, For these sessions I am offering 10% off your package price when using code SUNFLOWER during booking. I will also waive the $40 travel fee that I would normally charge to go to Armstrong, and I will pay my own admittance and you'll have to pay your own.
Please contact us either on facebook, instagram or at admin@selinaphotography.ca to arrange a date and time FIRST BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR BLOOM TICKET.
The Sunflower Festival has a lot of interesting aspects and props to use. It has a canoe set up above the sunflower heads that you climb up into with a ladder, which is always a favorite of the kids. It has a bathtub, a giant lawn chair, a piano and different seats and benches throughout.
I like to be prepared and the more prepared my clients are, the more likely they'll have a fun shoot, so here is all the info you need.
The ticket entry booth is right by the parking lot, along with any venders they have booked for this year. The pathways can be really muddy on our rainy days so be mindful if you have light coloured shoes or clothing you're planning to wear, So far this year I've lost a pair of shoes to the mud there. Because I have been there so many times, I also discovered that the nearby Sparrow Grass Field and Flower, is open to the public, always accessible, and has rows and rows and rows of different gorgeous flowers, including it's own rows of sunflowers, for free!
Because it's always open, we can go after hours and have the whole place to ourselves during that gorgeous evening sunset light. It also comes with it's own array of photo ops and if you do go during hours, you can plan to checkout their services like their market, coffee stand or u-pick flowers, I even brought my own kids there for photos because it was so perfect.
Whether you choose to go through the sunflower mazes, or visit Sparrow Grass instead, I am excited to adventure with you and create some unforgettable memories together. Contact us to find a date and time that works best for you.
